“Lewis, on the track and off the track, you are a much happier man this year, and for everyone here, that is great to see,” Croft said, prompting applause from the crowd.
Another driver quickly added, “Is that because it’s a fast car or a new girlfriend?”
Hamilton smiled before replying, “Yeah, that’s a good one.”
The light-hearted exchange continued when Croft joked, “You know why he’s asking? He just needs to know if Kimi needs two towels or not,” referencing the Monaco Grand Prix incident where Kardashian accidentally used a towel reserved for Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli.
Hamilton then shifted the conversation toward Ferrari’s progress after a challenging start to the season.
“Once you spend a year with this team, Ferrari is still the most iconic team of all time, and they’ve had a difficult period of time,” said the former Mercedes driver.
“It’s such an amazing team and they’ve been so welcoming.
The first year was obviously very tough but to finally see the hard work we’re all putting in, it’s finally get us back to where we want to be.”
He wrapped up his remarks with a brief but revealing comment that delighted the audience.
“And of course, of course, it’s Kim.”
The crowd erupted again before Croft responded, “It’s great to see.
It really is.”
