Lewis Hamilton Reveals Secret to First Ferrari Win

Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton finally got his first win with the Scuderia, more than a season after his debut, and afterward he broke down what led to his breakthrough.

Hamilton got a ton of fanfare for his move to the biggest team in the sport, resulting in high expectations and the hope that he could break the team’s title drought.

Ferrari has been the but of everyone’s joke over procedures and decisions that have cost the team wins and success over the years, while Hamilton has been known for his consistency.

However, his time with the Italian teams got off to a horrible start, with the 2025 season being awful for the British driver.

As the disappointing races piled on top of each other, Hamilton started to spiral on and off the track, seemingly getting to the point of quitting.

However, he underwent a total reset over the offseason, coming totally refreshed, and he has started to show the mettle that made him a seven-time champion.

How did Hamilton reset himself mentally?

“Well, I mean, I’m only human.

So, you know, there’s moments where I see the stuff and for sure there’s moments where I allowed it to get to me and penetrate deeply.

But, you know, then I went through a sequence of unplugging from that matrix,” Hamilton said after his win in Barcelona.

“I mentioned it last year, I spent lots of time with family, lots of time with friends, real people that know me, that have never doubted me, have stuck to and by me my whole life.

“And then I just went on the mission from Christmas Day.

The training that I put in was harder than I’ve ever experienced, to keep myself in good shape, because I think at the beginning of last year I got injured here, actually, and carried that for monThS.

“And [one thing] that I know is to never second-guess yourself, never doubt yourself.

You’ve got to continue to believe in yourself at the core.

And those are the things that I’ve managed to re-implement into my mentality.”
