American Airlines is planning to install Elon Musk’s Starlink on more than 500 of its narrow-body aircraft for in-flight Wi-Fi.
The air carrier currently offers free in-flight Wi-Fi to all customers enrolled in its frequent-flyer program, according to Reuters. The financial terms of the deal have not been laid out.

“As a premium global airline, we are continuously seeking out world-class partners like Starlink to deliver what our customers need and want,” American Airlines chief customer officer Heather Garboden said in a news release. “The addition of Starlink solidifies American as a leading airline in keeping passengers connected in flight.”
According to a post from its official X page, Starlink said it has 10 million active users globally across 160 countries.
Starlink Wi-Fi will be added in early 2027.
